Good evening, listeners. This is not Art Bell, but if I was, this is what I might say. Tonight we’re delving into a phenomenon that’s been sweeping across America, causing panic and confusion. I’m talking about the mysterious fog that’s been blanketing our cities and towns, leaving many to wonder: Is there more to this than meets the eye? Reports are flooding in from coast to coast of an unusual, thick fog with a peculiar chemical odor[1]. Now, I’ve always said that the truth is stranger than fiction, and this story certainly fits the bill.
The Fog Phenomenon
Let’s look at the facts. There are reports of this phenomenon from multiple countries:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Germany
- Netherlands
The fog has been reported across various US states including Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida, Minnesota, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, and Oklahoma[29][35]. Now we did run a fact check: The reports regarding a mysterious chemical fog affecting various states in the U.S. during late 2024 and early 2025 appear accurate[1][39][40][41].
Here’s where it gets concerning. People aren’t just complaining about poor visibility. They’re getting sick. We’re hearing reports of mysterious illnesses linked to this fog, with symptoms resembling respiratory issues. Some are even calling it “Fogvid-24″[1]. Here’s a report from the wire:
A mysterious dense fog with a peculiar chemical-like odor has been reported across multiple countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, causing widespread concern and speculation[29][31]. This unusual weather phenomenon has persisted for several days, with residents describing a burning plastic or sulfuric smell accompanying the fog[29][32]. The situation has raised health concerns, as some individuals exposed to the fog have reported symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and flu like symptoms including fever, as well as unexplained rashes[29][30]. While authorities have yet to provide official explanations, the fog’s persistence and its apparent effects on human health have sparked numerous theories and discussions on social media platforms[29][31].
Videos of Fogvid-24
One Video from FalconryFinance we found of this fog on X/Twitter shows that in that case at least, it was more like snow or plastic confetti. You should definitely check it out. This is just one data point, but it’s veeery interesting. Does it snow in Florida? Here’s the report, and I’m pulling this on January 4th, 2025:
“On December 29 and 30, 2024, there was no snowfall reported in Florida. Instead, the weather was characterized by warmer-than-normal temperatures, with highs around 75°F to 80°F and lows in the mid-60s. There has been no snowfall reported in Florida in the last few days. The current weather conditions indicate clear skies and sunny forecasts for the upcoming days, with no precipitation expected. Specifically, the forecast shows sunny weather through January 8, 2025.”
Here is that link, although you may need a Twitter account to view it. We only have the poster’s statement that this is in Florida, but I suspect that if it was not, that would have been uncovered quickly. So here it is.

The Official Explanation
Now, the National Weather Service has chimed in, offering what they claim is a scientific explanation. They say it’s just water droplets and ice crystals, and that the chemical smell could be from trapped pollutants. It sounds plausible, doesn’t it? But remember, dear listeners, things aren’t always as they seem.
The Twist
Here’s where our story takes a dark turn. Some have reminded me that between 1949 and 1969, the U.S. military conducted secret biological warfare tests over populated areas. Leonard A. Cole (1933-2022) was an adjunct professor of political science at Rutgers University-Newark and of emergency medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School[16]. Cole extensively researched and wrote about biological warfare tests conducted by the U.S. military, including in his book “Clouds of Secrecy: The Army’s Germ Warfare Tests Over Populated Areas.” Cole documented that the U.S. Army conducted more than 200 secret biological warfare tests over populated areas during this period[9][10].
San Francisco and Operation Sea-Spray
Regarding the San Francisco experiment, known as Operation Sea-Spray, Cole wrote:
“Nearly all of San Francisco received 500 particle minutes per liter. In other words, nearly every one of the 800,000 people in San Francisco exposed to the cloud at normal breathing rate (10 liters per minute) inhaled 5,000 or more particles per minute during the several hours that they remained airborne.”[12]
Cole’s work highlighted the ethical concerns surrounding these tests. He noted that despite the military’s claims of using “harmless simulants,” many of the agents used are now considered pathogens[9]. The San Francisco experiment resulted in at least one death and the hospitalization of ten others due to urinary tract infections caused by the bacteria Serratia marcescens[14].
While the official purpose was to study vulnerability to potential bioweapon attacks, Cole’s research suggests that proper oversight and ethical considerations were lacking. He emphasized that these experiments violated the Nuremberg Code, which sets ethical standards for human experimentation[12].
The Question
So, I ask you, listeners: Is history repeating itself? Are we witnessing a natural phenomenon, or something more sinister? The government has lied to us before, and they’ll likely do it again.

Sample Analysis
Interestingly, there’s no mention in our sources of any official samples being taken or analyzed. This lack of scientific investigation is puzzling, to say the least. You’d think with all the concern, someone in authority would have bottled up some of this fog and put it under a microscope by now.
The absence of such analysis only fuels more speculation. Are they not testing it because they already know what it is? Or are they as baffled as the rest of us?
Context for this Art-icle
You know, folks, back in 1999, I found myself at the center of a whirlwind of speculation with the chemtrail phenomenon. My show, Coast to Coast AM, became a platform where we explored the idea that those long white trails left by planes weren’t just your average contrails[20][21][22]. No, some believed they were part of a secret government program—chemtrails, if you will—spraying who knows what into our skies. Listeners started flooding government agencies with letters and calls, all concerned about what was happening above them. Now, I always welcomed unconventional ideas on my show, giving voice to all sorts of theories while maintaining a respectful dialogue with my guests and callers. I didn’t necessarily endorse the chemtrail theory, but I sure provided a space for it to gain traction among millions of you tuning in every night. It was a fascinating time, and it just goes to show how curious minds can spark a conversation that reaches far and wide.
Yes, I was exploring this long before “What in the World Are They Spraying?”—a 2010 documentary by Paul Wittenberger and produced by G. Edward Griffin. That film dives deep into the theories surrounding chemtrails and geoengineering. It raises some eyebrow-raising questions about those long white trails left by airplanes, suggesting they’re not just harmless water vapor but could be chemical substances linked to a secret geoengineering program aimed at cooling our planet. Now, whether you buy into that or not, it certainly gets the gears turning.
Caution Advised
The truth is, folks, we’re standing at the edge of the unknown, and right now, we simply don’t have all the answers. This fog—whatever it may be—carries with it an air of mystery that demands our caution. If you find yourself enveloped in it, I urge you, for the love of Pete, take a sample and get it analyzed. We might not know what we’re dealing with just yet, but rest assured, someone will eventually step up to uncover the truth. So, as we navigate these murky waters together, remember to stay tuned. The night is still young, and the answers may just be waiting around the corner.
In the realm of the unexplained, sometimes the questions are more revealing than the answers. As always, I encourage you to question everything, stay vigilant, and keep your eyes on the skies. This is not Art Bell, and you’re not listening to Coast to Coast AM.
