Prius Voice Commands

While you can not use the touch screen while driving (it gets disabled), it is possible to set an address destination even while driving in a Toyota Prius with navigation package installed.

To enter an address while driving:

Press Voice Command Button. (beep) Say, “Address”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep) “California”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep) “Sacramento”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep) “16th Street”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep) “One Six Three Zero”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep) “Enter Destination”
Guidance will start automatically using the Quick One route.

To find the nearest Italian restaurant.

Press Voice Command Button. (beep)  Say, “Nearest Italian Restaurant”
Press Voice Command Button. (beep)  “Enter Destination”

To speed up the process, once you know what to say, you can turn off the voice recognition guidance under settings.

Note: Saying “Auto pilot” had a result, but not the one I expected.

The Toyota Prius voice command system allows you to operate various functions, such as the radio and phone dialing, using voice commands. To use voice commands in the Prius, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the TALK button or short-press the TALK button to initiate voice recognition[1].
2. Say “CANCEL” to end voice recognition at any time[1].

– Zoom In: “Zoom In” or “Right Map Zoom In“[5].
– Zoom Out: “Zoom Out” or “Right Map Zoom Out“[5].
– North Up: “North Up” or “Change to north up“[5].
– Heading Up: “Heading Up” or “Change to heading up“[5].

Remember to speak clearly and in your normal voice, and make your surroundings as quiet as possible for the best results[1].

These commands allow you to control various functions of the Prius, such as the radio, navigation system, climate control, and display settings. 

To access the voice command list in a Toyota Prius, you can follow these steps:

1. Press the TALK button on your steering wheel or the voice command button on your infotainment system
2. Wait for the beep, and then state “More Commands” or “All Commands“. The system will read off all available commands for various functions, such as navigation and media

Please note that the voice command list may vary depending on the model and software version of your Prius. Additionally, the voice command system may not cover all functions, and some commands may not be available in certain situations.
