Latvia was the last target of Christian Crusades, because people in that region of the world were still “pagan.” However, some of their traditions, ancient views and culture were not entirely lost, because it was kept alive in popular folk songs and later recorded.
In a few songs they refer to the dance of the flowers/plants. I know to what they were referring by watching these type of time-lapse videos of plants/leaves, especially when the plants are young. The pumpkin plants really appear as if dancing to the rhythm of the sun.
What a beautiful and intimate relationship with the natural world the pagans must have had.
