A priest inquired of the Master, “What is fate?”
To which the Master replied:
It is that which bestows purpose upon a beast of burden.
It is the burden that individuals in ancient times carried upon their shoulders.
It is what has led civilizations to construct roads connecting cities for the passage of carts and coaches, giving rise to inns that offer respite from hunger, thirst, and fatigue.
“Is that fate?” questioned the priest.
“Fate… I thought you said Freight,” quipped the Master.
“Ah, that’s fine,” reassured the priest, “I was curious about Freight as well.”
