Palmer has placed an order for a staggering 117 animatronic dinosaurs from China, aiming to establish the largest dinosaur exhibit on the globe. The Australian Associated Press has reported that this ambitious project will feature 165 life-sized, robotic dinosaurs.
According to Agence France-Presse, Palmer’s vision includes towering dinosaurs, some reaching heights of over 20 feet and weighing in excess of a ton. These mechanical marvels will not only stand tall but will also exhibit lifelike movements, from swishing tails to heaving chests and even blinking eyes. The arrival of these prehistoric giants is eagerly anticipated, with the animatronic fleet set to land by the end of April.
The Sunshine Coast Daily has revealed that these dinosaurs will be nestled amidst the lush greenery between the first and fifth holes of the resort’s golf course, adding an element of ancient intrigue to the modern sport.
Palmer’s flair for the dramatic doesn’t stop at dinosaurs. He’s been known for his grandiose ideas, such as a previous ambition to clone a real dinosaur for his resort, as reported by the Sunshine Coast Daily last summer.
Furthermore, in a nod to historical luxury, Palmer announced in February his intention to construct a replica of the Titanic. This modern iteration of the ill-fated vessel is set to sail the same route as its namesake, complete with authentic period attire and dining experiences, as per The Associated Press. At the announcement event, Palmer’s philosophy was clear: “I want to spend the money I’ve got before I die.”
