    1. Good catch. I thought, when I read it.. “Perhaps boas are like turtles…. perhaps they do live that long.” but I didn’t look it up. Turns out that’s about 100 years off.

“The oldest snake on record was a boa constrictor that died in 1977 at the age of 40.” –

      1. yes, it’s like kiling the world’s most famous terrorist and then dumping his body at sea?

  1. it maybe true, or it just might be an overly-feed type of BOA, not unless reporters gonna feed us some news a type of BOA the size and length of African tourist train plus a head the size of an ordinary Mercedez Benz.,,

  2. I don’t think it was real 55 feet means the size showing in the screen is also not acceptable, if it is so there is only one still have been taken why the camera is not have a much memory to take it ?

  3. Its Photoshop….. as the guy said closer to the top, why is there only one picture? and how can another 55ft snake just dissapear? WTF do they eat?

  4. This is a real snake. It is NOT 55 ft. long. It is a Reticulated Python. They are common to that area and can grow to lengths of 33 ft. (largest on record). This snake is in the foreground making it appear larger. An approximate guess for this snake would be 24-26 ft. long.

    1. This is not a Recticulated Python either this would be a Common Boa!!!!…And there is no way in HELL it is 55ft long!!!it’s Lenegth could be around 20 to 25 ft. but nothing more and it would be kinda hard to believe that as well. And i agree where are all the other photos of the snake if it really is 55ft. long there would be more pics and video of the creature!!!..I have seen many more pics and videos of small reptiles and they were mmore publiized then this is and was to!..Hmmm some people will go to extreme measures to be center of attention!!!

      1. I’m sorry? That is not a common boa. I own one. That is a reticulated python. Look at the pattern of the snake in this picture and then look up a common boa on google. They look completely different.

      2. if you know anything about snakes then look at the picture the girth of the snanke is smaller than the men standing near for the growth spurts is length and width
so it is too frickin thin for its lenth

  5. is this true?course not..look, boa constrictor is large..but not that kind..imagine 55ft long..then how big is the head?and that head is same as anacondas which is the largest is 36ft..china..no.1 in gadgets..although not original..how come 1 pix..not high pixels..dont have other angles..people deserves true stories about creatures living with us…:)

  6. its not possible bcoz biologically reticulated python can never atain more than 30 feet max. and saying abt boa a 40 ft used to live named titan cerrojonesis tat 2 milllion yrs of ago

  7. What gives this illusion away is the Hydraulic Excavator’s shovel…. it’s about 5 foot tall…. So comparing that to the snake, makes the snake actuallly about 25ft long. This particular illusion is called illusion of depth, where it seems the snake is at the same place as the men, when in fact the excavator is extend out to about 10 feet.

  8. no one can say thats not a reticulated python. it looks nothing like a boa, i have a boa so i no wat they llook like, they dont get nearly that big even with perspective, and it has the same pattern as a retticulaated python

  9. Yeah…boas most definitely do NOT get anywhere near that size. The longest snake in the world is the reticulated python and even those have only reached 33 feet on record. Anyway, if you looked at the actual snake in the picture, you can tell that it was a small snake held close to the camera and the background was a picture of men further away. Don’t believe everything you see or hear because if you actually research the subject, you’ll find that most of the people making these claims have no idea what they’re talking about.

  10. i dont think its real… coz 55 foot and 140 year old snakes are not there on earth these days. even if some snake spices grow that long, people might hav killed it when it is 10 years old or 15 foot long. human invasion on forest hasn’t left a forest on earth is that dense.

  11. I have had 2 friends with reticulated pythons over 15feet. That is a reticulated python. And forced perspective making an illusion. (as stated before, just casting my vote for the truth)

  12. Thanks for the photo, This is a real snake. It is NOT 55 ft. long. It is a Reticulated Python. They are common to that area and can grow to lengths of 33 ft. (largest on record). This snake is in the foreground making it appear larger. An approximate guess for this snake would be 24-26 ft. long

  13. It is possible for this to happen given the proper conditions if that snake lived in that forest it would not have much competition for food and being that it is that big it was probably released a very long time ago when food was much more abundant probably an owner of the snake released it because it was getting to big this happens very much owner don’t release their pets in the proper places and both snakes survived and who knows maybe they are even more of those giants those could just be part of a generation of snake given birth by an even bigger one.

  14. Your way of telling all in this article is truly nice, all be capable of effortlessly understand it, Thanks a lot.
