In an amazing tale that might make even a skeptical listener’s hair stand on end, Crystal McVea, an Oklahoma native, claims to have experienced a profound encounter with the divine during a near-death experience in 2009. This extraordinary event, which occurred on December 10th of that year, has left many questioning the boundaries between life, death, and the afterlife[1][2].
McVea, a mother of four, was undergoing a routine medical procedure when she suddenly went into full respiratory arrest[2][4]. For nearly ten minutes, as medical staff frantically worked to revive her, McVea says she journeyed to the realm beyond our mortal coil[1].
In a startling twist that defies conventional understanding, McVea insists she not only saw and spoke with God but also experienced the divine presence through all her senses – and then some. She describes the Almighty as “an immense brightness” that she could “feel, taste, touch, hear, and smell,” suggesting that her celestial experience transcended the limits of human perception[2][3].
But the story doesn’t end there, folks. McVea, a self-proclaimed doubter and skeptic, says this otherworldly encounter shattered her lingering uncertainties about faith[3]. She recounts falling to her knees before the Creator, surrounded by angels in a realm that defies earthly description[4].
In a moment that seems plucked from the pages of a cosmic drama, McVea claims God twice offered her the choice to return to Earth. Twice, she declined, preferring to bask in the presence of the divine. Yet, despite her reluctance, she says God ultimately sent her back, but not before “freeing” her from the burdens of shame and guilt that had plagued her mortal existence[4].
This mind-bending account has left many wondering: Was this a glimpse into the great beyond, or perhaps a neurological phenomenon triggered by extreme stress? Whatever the case, McVea’s story continues to captivate and perplex, challenging our understanding of life, death, and what may lie beyond the veil of our earthly existence[3][4].
What do you suppose God smells like? To misquote the late George Harrison, “I really want to smell you Lord, but it takes so long I know. Hallelujah.”

He smells like Bigfoot’s dick!
(From the excellent movie, Anchorman, with Will Ferrell).
Interesting. So, after experiencing the oneness and ultimate reality of God, this woman is now driven to renew her practice of a Greco-Jewish rip-off cult of Judaism formalized by the Roman senate. With her renewed faith she once again feels compelled to commit idolatry and pray to a man. This seriously calls into doubt the veracity of her revelation.
It’s like being shown the big bang and evolution of life in a vision, which inspires you to go out to preach that the earth is the center of the universe and flat and that life was created from the poop of a giant dung beetle 1000 years ago…
