([=]) 200 B.C. Chinese create first gunpowder through mixing charcoal, saltpeter and sulphur.

([=]) 600 A.D. Fireworks rockets: Chinese had adapted gunpowder to send other explosive charges into the air for entertainment.

([~]) Apr 14, 1541: Nuremberg, Germany. “a lot of men and women saw a very alarming spectacle where various objects were involved, including balls “approximately 3 in the length, from time to time, four in a square, much remained insulated, and between these balls, one saw a number of crosses with the color of blood. Then one saw two large pipes, in which small and large pipes, were 3 balls, also four or more. All these elements started to fight one against the other.” Source: Gazette of the town of Nuremberg.

([~]) Aug 7, 1566: Celestial phenomenon over Basel. A broadsheet published in 1566 depicted numerous spherical objects appearing out of the sun. The event was recorded and depicted by Samuel Coccius, “a student of the Holy Scripture and of the free arts, at Basel”  … “It happened in 1566 three times, on 27 and 28 of July, and on August 7, against the sunrise and sunset; we saw strange shapes in the sky above Basel. … At the dawn of August 7, we saw large black spheres coming and going with great speed and precision before the sun and chattered as if they led a fight. Many of them were fiery red and, soon crumbled and then extinguished.”

([~]) Sep 26, 1609: Gangwon-do Province, Korea. Belatedly recorded in the Annals over a month later: Over “clear and cloudless” skies (Three places recorded Sa hour (9-11 AM), one recorded Oh hour (noon), and one recorded Mi hour (1-3 PM)), a shiny object resembling “a bowl” or “a washbasin”, suddenly appeared over the skies, made “a thunderous sound” and flew “fast like an arrow”, and that “heaven and earth shook”. It looked “as if it would land”, but then it “tilted and rose”, and then “it disappeared into sparks”, with a comment that “it looked as if it was in the air by some energy.”

([=]) Jun 4, 1783: Annonay, France. First public demonstration of an unmanned hot air balloon ascent. The Montgolfier brothers, Joseph and Jacques, stage a public demonstration of the first hot-air balloon capable of carrying passengers.

([=]) Aug 27, 1783: Paris, France. First balloon inflated with hydrogen gas launched by Jacques Alexandre César Charles, member of the French Academy of Science. Unlike the Montgolfier balloon, this hydrogen-inflated balloon was closed to contain the gas. The sphere was a silk bag treated with an elastic gum to keep the hydrogen gas in. It measured 13 feet (4 meters) in diameter, ascended from the Place des Victories in Paris to a height of nearly 3,000 feet (914 meters) and came down some 15 miles (24 kilometers) away “where terrified peasants attacked and destroyed it.”

([=]) Nov 21, 1783: The first manned hot-air balloon, designed by the Montgolfier brothers, takes off from the Bois de Boulogne, Paris. The first free flight by humans was made by Pilâtre de Rozier, together with an army officer, the Marquis d’Arlandes. The flight began from the grounds of the Château de la Muette (close to the Bois de Boulogne (park) in the western outskirts of Paris.

([*]) Dec 1, 1783: Paris, France. Another “First” manned balloon flight. Jacques Alexandre César Charles built a new balloon that he named La Charlière and, on December 1, 1783, successfully took off from the gardens of the Tuileries in Paris before a crowd of 400,000 people, carrying Charles and an assistant, M.N. Robert. La Charlière covered 27 miles (43 kilometers) before landing safely at Nesle.

([O]) Aug 12, 1883: On August 12, the astronomer José Bonilla photographed hundreds of dark objects crossing the sun while observing sunspot activity at Zacatecas Observatory in Mexico. Bonilla published an account of the event three years later in L’Astronomie.

([o]) Nov 17, 1896 to April 23, 1897: Airship sightings. Newspapers across California, and later other states, especially the Midwest, printed reports of strange airships and lights. Common elements of the descriptions included bright lights, cigar-shaped bodies, wings and metallic hull

([*]) April 17, 1897: Aurora, Texas UFO Incident. Local correspondent S.E. Hayden reported the crash of an airship piloted by an alien. According to Hayden, the pilot was buried in the local cemetery. Residents of Aurora embrace the story without taking it seriously.

([*]) Jun 30, 1908: (Around 7:14 am) Tunguska Event Massive explosion with blast energy of 5 to 30 megatons about 1000 times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan and about one third the power of the Tsar Bomba, the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated

([*]) Summer 1922: First saucer-shaped flying machine built. Drive based on implosion. Consisted of three disks, one eight metres across, one six and a half metres above and a third disk seven metres in diameter below. All three disks had a whole at the centre “one metre eighty across in which the drive which was two meters forty high was mounted. At the bottom the central body was cone-shaped, and there a pendulum reaching the cellar was hung that served for stabilisation. In the activated state the top and bottom disk revolved in opposing directions to build up an electromagnetic rotating field.” Experiments are conducted on it two years before it is dismantled and possibly stored in the Messerschmidt factory at Augsburg. A drive called VRIL (formally SSM-L or “Schumann SM-Levitator”) emerged from this machine.

([*]) 1930’s: Victalen German super metal special armor called Victalen or Viktalen or Viktalon (Frozen Smoke) developed by German metallurgists to be used as protective skin for saucer shaped spacecraft hulls.

([*]) Oct 30, 1938: War of the Worlds broadcast: A global uneasiness with alien beings began this day when Orson Welles narrated his adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel ‘War of the Worlds’ over the Columbia Broadcasting System radio network. The ‘news bulletin’ style simulation created a panic so widespread that nearly 2 million listeners believed it to be factual.

([*]) August 1939: The SS had already built the RFZ-5 (Haunebu I) make maiden flight this month. Measured more than 65 ft. First long distance aircraft.

([=]) Dec 7, 1941: (Sunday) Japan attacks Pearl Harbor

([*]) Dec 8, 1941: (Monday) Congress approves entry into war. Germany, Italy declare war on U.S.

([=]) Late 1941: V-2 rocket, first ballistic missile. Army Research Center at Peenemunde where Wernher von Braun possessed technologies essential to the success of the A-4. The three key technologies for the A-4 were large liquid-fuel rocket engines, supersonic aerodynamics, and guidance and control.

([*]) Feb 25, 1942: (2:25 AM ) UFO battle of LA Round dome shaped circular painted by spotlights, hammered by 15,000 rounds, unharmed, flies away. According to one video, this was the Vril RFZ-2 which used magnetic impulse steering. It was only about 16 ft from end to end. Produced optical blurring of contours when accelerating, and colored lights depending on the level of power that was applied. It remained virtually unnoticed by Germany’s political leadership.

([=]) Oct 1, 1942: XP-59A Aircomet, first US jet. Flown at Muroc Dry Lake, CA by Bell’s chief test pilot Robert M. Stanley. The Bell P-59, the United States’ first jet engine fighter aircraft took to the skies for the first time. Bell Aircraft test pilot Jack Woolams wore a gorilla mask while testing the P-59 Airacomet. According to Military.com, “If you’re flying a top secret, experimental airplane in the middle of the day when other pilots are in the air, it makes sense to help create a story so outlandish that no one on the ground would ever believe it.” As the story goes, the military base psychologists were in on it:  “You are telling me you saw a plane with no propeller flown by a gorilla wearing a derby hat who was smoking a big cigar? Do you hear yourself right now?”

([=]) Oct 3, 1942: Wernher von Braun’s German V2 rocket first successful launch from Peenemunde on the Baltic coast of Germany. The rocket was 14 meters long, weighed 12.5 tonnes, and reached an altitude of 88 km (55 miles) on this pioneering test flight.

([~]) December 1942: B.C. Lumsden reported two Foo Fighters whilst piloting an RAF Hurricane over France. Lumsden was flying over the mouth of the River Somme (France) at 7,000 ft. when he observed two steadily climbing orange-coloured lights, one slightly above the other. He realised that they were not flak because of the fact that they were moving slowly. When they reached 7,000 ft. they stopped climbing, staying level with his aircraft. Somewhat worried Lumsden tried to evade the objects but they followed his every move and kept level with him, even when he dropped to 4,000 and then 1,000 ft. Only when he pushed the speed up to 260m.p.h. did he leave the lights behind.

([=]) Summer 1943: Peenemunde research center seized by Heinrich Himmler. German rocketry now wholly-owned subsidiary of the SS. Himmler urges factories for production of war materials be built in natural caves and underground tunnels immune to enemy bombing by the summer of 1944 in the Hartz mountains in central Germany.

([*]) Feb 14, 1944: Test flight of the V-7 supersonic helicopter equipped with 12 BMW 028 engines in Prague.

([=]) Jun 13, 1944: First V-1 flying bomb struck London next to the railway bridge on Grove Road, Mile End. Eight civilians were killed in the blast. V-1 powered by Argus Schmidt As 014pulse jet engine or resonant jet, could operate at zero airspeed with intake vane system and acoustically tuned resonant combustion chamber. V-1 had an autopilot, to regulate height and speed. A weighted pendulum system provided fore-and-aft attitude measurement to control pitch (damped by a gyrocompass, which it also stabilized). Speed 390 mph, range 150 miles.

([=]) Jun 20, 1944: The V-2 rocket, developed under the leadership of Wernher von Braun, was the first man-made object to reach the edge of space, an altitude of 176 km (109 miles), exceeding the Kármán line at 100 km (62 miles) which is commonly used to define the boundary of outer space.

([*]) Sep 8, 1944: A4 / V-2 Rockets first launched. Lehr und Versuchs Batterie No. 444 launched a single rocket guided by a radio beam directed at Paris which caused modest damage near Porte d’Italie.The 485th at The Hague launched two against London the same day at 6:43 pm, — the first landed at Chiswick killing 3 people. Guided by advanced gyroscopic system that sent signals to steering tabs on the fins and vanes in the exhaust. Propelled by an alcohol (a mixture of 75% ethyl alcohol and 25% water), and liquid oxygen fuel. The two liquids were delivered to the thrust chamber by two rotary pumps, driven by a steam turbine. Steam turbine operated at 5,000 rpm on two auxiliary fuels: hydrogen peroxide (80 %) and a mixture of 66% sodium permanganate with water 33%. System generated about 55,000 lbs (24947 kg) of thrust at the start, which increased to 160,000 lbs (72574 kg) when the maximum speed was reached. Speed: 3,580 mph, Range 200 miles. In service until Sept 1952.

([*]) Nov 10, 1944: Winston Churchill informs Parliament, and the world, that England had been under rocket attack “for the last few weeks”.

([*]) Dec 13, 1944: First reports of Foo Fighters as new German “secret” weapon.

([*]) Fall 1944: Two Horten IX’s were built and tried out. One of the two pilots died testing the crescent winged secret aircraft. (Jet powered flying wings had stability problems. The other test pilot, Eugen (later living in Goettingen) at Rechlin, was more fortunate in putting the other ship through all the necessary paces without the least trouble. He maintains that the maximum speed attained was around 950 km per hour, and that there were no steering difficulties whatsoever, and that the danger of both head and tail spins was no greater that any other conventional aircraft.

([*]) Jan 4, 1945: Byron Price, Director of the Office of Censorship tells all editors and broadcasters not to publish any information about balloon bombs that reach the US since this information aids the enemy.

Goering requests ten planes be built immediately and entire Gothaer Waggon Fabrik factory, located in the town of Gotha (Thuringia) concentrate and be converted to the production of the Horten IX. ([~]) Feb 1945: Foo Fighters identified my US intelligence as German radio-controlled jet-propelled, still-nosed, short-range high performance ramming weapon against bombers (est speed 525 mph). ([*]) Jul 18, 1946: (Lake Mjosa, Sweden) Two 8 ft long missiles with wings set about 3 ft from their front plunge into the lake creating “notable turbulence”. While in flight, the wings seemed to flap as if made of cloth and the objects whistled as they flew.

([*]) Aug 9 and 11, 1946: (Finland) Peaks of about 2,000 Ghost rocket sightings logged between May and December 1946. Two hundred of the sightings were verified with radar returns. Authorities recovered physical fragments attributed to ghost rockets.

([*]) Nov 27, 1946: General Groves, dir of Manhattan Project, recommends compartmentalization: bring in foreign scientists, make them citizens, but keep them from “coming in contact with our atomic energy program in any way.”

([*]) Jun 21, 1947: Puget Sound near Maury Island, Washington. Harold A. Dahl reported that his dog was killed and his son was injured by debris in an encounter with four to six flying doughnut-shaped objects. He also claimed that a witness was subsequently threatened by the Men in Black.

([=]) Jun 24, 1947: In daylight, Kenneth Arnold sees nine unusual objects flying in a chain near near Mount Rainier Washington. Sighting by Kenneth Arnold which popularized the term, “Flying Saucer” resembled the Horten wing. Arnold believed he witnessed experimental aircraft and said he saw glass cockpits. ([?]) Mar-May 1947: Walter Horten hears about Northrop flying wing design in US, writes to Northrop for employment.

([~]) Jun 24, 1947:Fred M Johnson sees Kenneth Arnold’s craft from ground with telescope. Compass needle shifts when objects pass over. Reports to military Aug 22, 1947. “they were Round about 30 feet in dimater tapering sharply to a point in the lead end in an oval shape. with a bright top surface. I did not hear any noise as you would from a plane. But there was an object in the tail and looked like a big hand of a clock shifting from side to side like a big magnet. There (sic) speed as far as i know seemed to be greater than anything I ever saw.”

([=]) Jun 25, 1947: Bill Bequette of the East Oregonian, who first interviewed Arnold, summarized the sighting as, “nine saucer-like aircraft flying in formation.” This introduced the term flying saucers, and Arnold’s sighting sparked an explosion of UFO reports around the country.

([*]) Jun 29, 1947: Sunday, afternoon * Camp Little, Arizona. Luis Bazurto and Armando Macias sitting w/ families in their front yard, see about six disks fly in at great speed from the west and disappear toward the northeast. (Nogales Herald, 7/3; Phoenix Gazette, 7/3)

([*]) Jun 29, 1947: Monday, 11 pm * Tucumcari, NM. Mrs. Helen Hardin reported July 8 seeing flying saucer from her front porch traveling east to west at high speed. It was slightly yellowish, looked about half the size of the full moon. She watched it for about 6 seconds. It was low in the sky and appeared to go down to the ground outside of town. She thought it might be a meteor, but it didn’t fall as fast as meteors, and she also noticed a whirling motion as it neared the ground. ([*]) Jul 1, 1947: Sherman Campbell discovers weather balloon and radar target debris on his farm near Circleville, OH.

([*]) Jul 1, 1947: Tuesday, 9:30 am MST * Pima Indian reservation, just south of Chandler, Arizona. Robert E. Johnson, juvenile probation officer of Chandler county, sees lone silver-colored, discus-shaped object traveling at “great rate of speed”, headed north in a fairly direct way, visible two to three minutes. Estimated height at 5000 to 10,000 ft.  – Tucson Daily Citizen, 7/7

([*]) Jul 1, 1947: (Tuesday, night * Albuqurque, NM) Max Hood, an Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce executive, sees “a disc-like bluish object following a zig-zag path in the northwestern sky” for about half a minute before it disappeared in the vicinity of Volcano Peak. (Albuquerque Journal, 7/2; -Roswell Daily Record, 7/2; Portales Daily News, 7/2; Gallup Independent, 7/2; Santa Fe New Mexican, 7/2)

([*]) July 2, 1947: (Wednesday, 9:50 PM) Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wilmot see oval object, “like two inverted saucers faced mouth to mouth,” passing over their house in Roswell. Object, moves at a high speed, heading northwest.

([*]) Jul 2, 1947: Rancher Mac Brazel hears loud crash during night near Corona, New Mexico. Brazel reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like an explosion, which he attributed to a rainstorm in the area.

([*]) Jul 3, 1947: Mac Brazel discovers crash debris. Morning following the explosion sound, Brazel discovered unusual debris scattered across an area of his ranch.

([*]) Jul 3, 1947: (Thursday) At the White Sands Proving Ground, attempted launch of a V-2 rocket fails, never getting off the pad. Several injured in spray of acid.?

([*]) July 4, 1947: JA United Airlines crew reported seeing similar objects to Kenneth Arnold’s bat winged craft over Idaho. The Flight 105 UFO sighting occurred when three crew members aboard a United Airlines flight reported seeing multiple unidentified flying objects in the skies over the Pacific Northwest. The incident was among at least 800 similar sightings in the United States within a few weeks in the summer of 1947, but the first report by professional pilots. First Officer Ralph Stevens and his co-pilot, Captain E. J. Smith saw four or five objects, they would later describe as “flat and circular”. Smith would tell the Associated Press that they were “bigger than aircraft”, but would say to United Press that because of the objects’ positions relative to the airliner, “we can’t say anything about their shape except that they were thin and were smooth on the botton [sic] and rough appearing on the top. We can’t say for sure if they were saucer-like, oval or anything else about their size.” One was larger than the others, and they were flying in a “loose formation”. The objects disappeared, only to be replaced by four more.

([*]) Jul 5, 1947: Following the rain the night before, Brazel inspects the pastures surrounding the ranch house. Riding with him is the young son of the Proctors, William D. Proctor. During the inspection, Brazel discovers a debris field 300 hundred yards wide (3 football fields) and 3/4 of a mile long. Scattered on the slopes and into the sinkhole and depressions are metal, plasticlike beams, pieces of lightweight material, foil, and string. The debris is thick enough that the sheep refuse to cross the field and are driven around it to water more than a mile away. Brazel picks up a sackful of the “stuff.”

([*]) Jul 5, 1947: (Saturday) Morning. — Brazel hauls and stores some larger pieces of wreckage in a cattle shed.

([*]) Jul 5, 1947: (Saturday) Afternoon — Brazel visits neighbors, the Lyman Stricklands, and shows them piece of wreckage to get their opinion as to what it might be.

Mrs. Walter Turner and her husband first saw a bright shiny light over Mt. Franklin that “zipped along” and disappeared in the east. She heard no noise. It was unlike anything she had seen before. At the same time, David Hunt and John Jordan see “four round, flat, saucer-shaped objects shooting across the sky west and south over Mt. Franklin.” They appeared to be about 15 feet in diameter and about a thousand feet above the mountain. They glowed and disappeared in about 20 seconds. ([*]) Jul 7, 1947: (Monday, dusk.Phoenix, Arizona, ) William A Rhodes took 2 (or maybe 3) photos of a heel-shaped object w/concave trailing edge circling and banking north of town above his home. Photos also showed a white spot near center of the object. It initially approached from west and Rhodes heard “whooshing” sound. However, during its three clockwise circuits above him, Rhodes said he heard no sound. It then sped off to the southwest at a phenomenal speed, again making no sound. Rhodes said he saw twin vapor trails from the two points at the tips of the concave trailing edge. (Phoenix Arizona Republic, 7/9; San Diego (CA) Union, 7/9; Los Angeles Herald-Express, 7/9) [incident extensively investigated by military intelligence. All prints confiscated. Rhodes turned over negatives to FBI agent and an Army counterintelligence agent a few weeks later.

([*]) Jul 8, 1947: (Monday, noon) Colonel Blanchard at Roswell AAF ordered Second Lieutenant Walter Haut to issue a press release telling the country that the Army had found the remains of a crashed a flying saucer. Haut was the public information officer for the 509th Bomb Group at Roswell AAF. Haut delivered the press release to Frank Joyce at radio station KGFL. Joyce waited long enough for Haut to return to the base, then called Haut there to confirm the story. Joyce then sent the story on the Western Union wire to the United Press bureau.

The reports were accompanied by radar contacts at three separate airports. The US Air Force suggested a temperature inversion caused the radar events.

They saw a blue flash of light near the road, claimed their truck’s engine died, and that a rocket-shaped object rose up and approached the truck. Believing the story to be a joke, police officer A. J. Fowler ignored it. An hour later, motorist Jim Wheeler reported a “brilliantly lit, egg-shaped object, about 200 feet long” was sitting in the road, four miles (6 km) east of Levelland, blocking his path. He claimed his vehicle died and as he got out of his car the object took off and its lights went out. As it moved away, Wheeler’s car restarted and worked normally.

([=]) Dec 9, 1965: ( 4:47 P.M.) Kecksburg, PA. The UFO Crash Incident. Some witnesses described as streaking green fire across the sky before it crashed in a local field, just before 6 p.m. Local resident Bill Bulebush was working on his car when he saw the object, described it as acorn-shaped and about twice the size of a Volkswagen Beetle. He said that it glided slowing before making a U-turn and going down. A local fireman, James Romansky, later described the downed craft as having hieroglyphic-like writing around its bottom ring. He only got to examine the craft for about 15 minutes, before government and military officials arrived and ordered everyone from the scene, and posted armed guards around the perimeter.

([=]) Jan 6, 1969: Future president Jimmy Carter filed a written report of a “luminous, not solid” light over Leary, Georgia. One evening in 1969, two years before he became Governor of Georgia, Carter was preparing to give a speech at a Lions Club meeting. He reported that at about 7:15 pm, one of the guests called his attention to a strange bright white object, about as bright as the moon, that was about 30 degrees above the horizon to the west of where they were standing. It moved toward their direction, but stopped beyond a stand of pine trees some distance from them. The object then changed color, first to blue, then to red, then back to white, before appearing to recede into the distance. Carter felt that the object was self-illuminated, and not solid in nature. Carter’s report indicates that it was witnessed by about ten or twelve other people, and was in view for ten to twelve minutes before it passed out of sight.

In the liner notes to his 1974 album Walls and Bridges, Lennon wrote: “On the 23rd August 1974 at 9 o’clock I saw a U.F.O. – J.L.” May Pang, John’s girlfriend at the time, described the event in her book Loving John, when both of them saw a “saucer-shaped object surrounded by blinking white lights gliding through the sky”.

More than 300 residents called a local UFO organization’s hotline that night, reporting that they had seen large v-shaped array of lights that moved slowly and almost silently through the sky. Hunt Middleton, a local resident who had just stepped off a bus from New York City at 7:30 p.m., described a row of six or seven extremely bright lights. “They were all blinking on and off, and were red, blue, green and white. I knew it was not any type of conventional aircraft because the lights were stationary. It was just hovering there in the sky.” Middleton said that he watched the object for five minutes.

([=]) May 19, 1986: Radar and visual contacts were obtained with multiple ‘bright colorful objects’ in the sky across several states. Mirage IIIE and F-5 fighters were scrambled but failed to intercept, with pilots describing the objects as capable of impossible maneuvers and rapidly accelerating to as much as Mach 15 once approached.

([*]) Nov 18, 1993: Sasolburg, South Africa. Residents of Sasolburg observed a craft arriving from the direction of Vereeniging. The craft departed in a flash in the direction of Parys, but returned some three minutes later. The craft, similar in appearance to a water droplet, was observed to change colour and shape. With time individual lights were distinguished, and the body was determined to be cigar-shaped. While contained in a yellowish to orange glow, it emitted a downward blue light, before once again departing in a flash, upwards. A nearby town resident claimed to have found imprints of a small craft’s landing gear some two months later.

([?])1994: The U.S. Air Force admits the recovered material was from a U.S. spy balloon part of Project Mogul.

([?]) 1997: The air force report “The Roswell Report: Case Closed” suggests that stories of alien bodies may have been misinterpreted events like parachute crashes and airplane accidents during the 1950s.

([*]) Mar 13, 1997: Phoenix, Arizona. Lights and craft of varying descriptions, most notably a V-shaped pattern outlined by seven lights, were seen by thousands of people between 19:30 and 22:30 MST, in a space of about 300 miles, from the Nevada line, through Phoenix, to the edge of Tucson. Others reported seeing orbs and triangles in the sky as well. Police departments in Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and other Arizona cities were jammed with calls from residents.  One witness, a man in his thirties named Dana Valentine, said that he and his father both watched as the lights passed 500 feet directly above them. The governor of Arizona saw one of the craft as well and he said it was huge, much larger than anything we have. A City Counsel Woman interviewed over 500 witnesses to the event.

([*]) May 8, 2000: Warden, South Africa. Police inspector Kriel claimed to have observed an approaching UFO while traveling on the N3 freeway, 70 km north of Warden in the eastern Free State province. The orange, oval-shaped light was fitted with two cupolas, one above and another below, and was wide enough to cover four lanes of the freeway. After a close approach the craft receded again.

([*]) May 13, 2004: Jaime Maussan released his interview of Mexican Air Force pilots showing an infrared video footage from a military air patrol on March 5, 2004 to search for drug-running planes, that shows at least 11 very hot “spheres” moving irregularly with apparent great speed. The objects could not be seen with the naked eye, neither the crew on board nor ground personnel confirmed any radar contact with the objects in question.

([=]) July 14, 2001: New Jersey Turnpike. For around 15 minutes just after midnight, drivers marveled strange orange-and-yellow lights in a V formation over the Arthur Kill Waterway between Staten Island, New York, and Carteret, New Jersey.

([=]) March 5, 2004: Mexico. A drug-smuggling air-patrol recorded objects on infrared camera and the footage released by Jaime Maussan. The objects were correlated with the burn-off flares of oil platforms. Mexico’s Defense Department issued a press release on May 12 accompanied by videotape that showed moving bright lights at 11,500 feet.

([=]) Nov14, 2004: 100 miles off the coast of San Diego. USS Princeton spots an unknown craft underwater. For two weeks the crew had been tracking objects that plummeted to hover right above the Pacific Ocean after they appeared at 80,000 feet. Two FA-18F fighter jets intercepting saw what appeared to be churning water, with a shadow of an oval shape underneath the surface. In a few moments a white Tic Tac-shaped object appeared above the water. It accelerated away at three times the speed of sound and more than twice the speed of the fighter jets.

([=]) Nov 7, 2006: (around 4:15 p.m) Chicago, Illinois. 12 United Airlines employees and pilots claimed sightings of a saucer-shaped, unlit craft hovering over a Chicago O’Hare Airport terminal, before shooting up vertically. Witnesses described the object as completely silent, 6 to 24 feet (1.8 to 7.3 m) in diameter and dark gray in color. Several independent witnesses outside of the airport also saw the object. One described a disc-shaped craft hovering over the airport, stating that it was “obviously not clouds.” According to this witness, the object shot through the clouds at high velocity, leaving a clear blue hole in the cloud layer. The hole reportedly seemed to close itself shortly afterward.

([=]) Jan 8, 2008: Stephenville, Texas. In the evening, citizens reported seeing white lights above Highway 67, first in a single horizontal arc and then in vertical parallel lines. Steve Allen, a local pilot, estimated the strobe lights “spanned about a mile long and a half mile wide,” and were traveling about 3,000 miles per hour. No sound was reported.

([*]) Jun 20, 2008: Different cities, Wales UK. According to media reports, a police helicopter was almost hit by a UFO, before it tried to pursue it. Hundreds of people reported to have witnessed a UFO on the same or preceding days, from different areas of Wales.

([*]) Jul 21, 2010: Pretoria, South Africa. Residents of Booysens, Pretoria, observed a triangle of bright lights which hung motionless in the sky for two hours. In each instance the object commenced a slow descent towards the horizon at 20:30. Binocular observation revealed nothing more than a blue and emerald light, with a white light which shone straight downwards.

([=]) Jan 16, 2013:  Killeen, Texas. Daylight sighting by multiple people of 4 strange lights flying in the sky. The objects seemed to spin while they remained stationery.

([=]) Aug 11, 2014: Houston, Texas. Many people saw a ring of lights, flying during a thunderstorm and it was captured on video. The object seemed to be transparent but the lights were arranged in a circle with a central light visible on some pictures.

([*]) Oct 3, 2014: Breckenridge, Colorado. The police in Breckenridge, Colorado received not only one but multiple reports of UFO sightings over the city. The mysterious objects remained stationary for periods of up to 15 minutes at a time. After that, a flash would appear and the “objects would take off across the mountain ridge”.

([?]) Nov 14, 2014: Chile. A UFO was sighted by Chilean Navy helicopter along the coast and was filmed nearly 10 minutes with visible and infrared camera.
