On July 8, 1947, the Roswell Daily Record published a headline claiming that military officials had captured a flying saucer on a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. This announcement sparked what would become one of the most enduring UFO conspiracy theories in history. While the U.S. Army quickly retracted the claim, stating the object was merely a weather balloon, speculation about extraterrestrial involvement persisted for decades.
In 2012, Chase Brandon, a retired CIA agent with 35 years of service, reignited the controversy with his claims about the Roswell incident. Brandon stated unequivocally that the object was not a weather balloon but “a craft that clearly did not come from this planet.” He also mentioned reports of “remains” and “cadavers,” suggesting extraterrestrial beings were involved.
Brandon’s revelation came from his experience in the mid-1990s when he accessed the CIA’s Historical Intelligence Collection at Langley, Virginia. He described finding a box labeled “Roswell” containing written materials and photographs that confirmed his belief in the extraterrestrial nature of the crash. Although Brandon refused to disclose specific details about the contents of the box, he called it “the single validating moment” for his suspicions about Roswell.
Brandon’s claims have been met with skepticism from both government officials and UFO researchers. The U.S. Air Force has consistently maintained that the debris recovered at Roswell was part of Project Mogul, a top-secret program using high-altitude balloons to monitor Soviet nuclear tests. A 1994 Air Force report concluded that the weather balloon explanation was a cover story to obscure Project Mogul’s classified nature.
Despite official denials, Roswell remains central to UFO lore. The incident has inspired countless conspiracy theories involving alien spacecraft, government cover-ups, and extraterrestrial autopsies. Some proponents argue that reverse-engineering alien technology from Roswell influenced modern advancements in aerospace and electronics.
Brandon’s account also coincided with his promotion of a novel titled *The Cryptos Conundrum*, which explored themes of political conspiracy and UFO cover-ups. Critics have questioned whether his claims were intended to bolster interest in his book.
As of 2025, no new evidence has emerged to substantiate Brandon’s assertions or other claims of extraterrestrial involvement in the Roswell incident. However, Roswell continues to be celebrated as a hub for UFO tourism and research, drawing visitors intrigued by its enduring mystery and cultural significance.
I just saw the Men in Black III last night. It was great. Well, there is a “Roswell” box in a special section of CIA headquarters in Langley, VA in the Historical Intelligence Collection. Cool. I always figured the CIA knew the truth if anyone did since countintelligence agents were among the first MIB on the scene.

This I already know. We knower’s who known this has known it so long its tiresome to wait for the “egg” to crack! It so long wait but finally the truth comes out sooner or later. Truth has 3 stages; First it is ridiculed, then figure the rest 🙂
Robert, why do you say you knew stuff AFTER I post it? If you are a “knower” tell us what’s in the box! Oh, let me guess, you are bound by the Prime Directive of Space Seeds and can’t tell us? In that case you are already breaking your own rule by telling us you are a knower. SO, are you a knower, or a don’t-knower? We want to know! Box, Box, Box! 🙂
Seems that I cant reply to you, at least I cant see my post/reply so here it comes in a text file:
