A large study by Peter Hartmann published in Personality and Individual Differences Journal of the possible link between human traits and astrology found little, if any, connection between the traditional sun signs of the zodiac and characteristics of individuals.
The belief that astrological sun signs determine personality or life events is rooted in ancient astrological traditions. However, from a scientific perspective, there is no empirical evidence supporting this notion. Over the years, numerous studies have failed to establish a correlation between astrological signs and personality traits or life outcomes. Moreover, astrology does not align with what we understand about physics and astronomy.
Personality and life events are influenced by a multitude of factors, such as genetics, upbringing, environment, culture, and personal choices. To attribute them solely to astrological signs overlooks the complexity of human development and experiences.
While astrology may have cultural or personal significance to some individuals, it should be approached with critical thinking, recognizing that its claims are not scientifically validated.
Astrology is like a Reces Peanut butter Cup. Hey, you got Astronomy in my Psychology! Hey! You got Psychology in my Astronomy… Yum. It is still fun even if it is unconnected to objective reality. I’ve always thought of it as a religion and a way for people to talk about their personalities with eachother. Nothing wrong with that.
